Conference of Parties

The CITES Conference of Parties (COP) takes place every 2 - 3 years. All signatories to the Convention can attend and propose amendments to the appendices or resolutions about the implementation of the Convention.

Application to register the Cayman Turtle Farm as a captive breeding operation

The CITES Management Authority of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland has submitted an application to the CITES Secretariat on behalf of the Cayman Islands Government to register the Cayman Turtle Farm (CTF) as a captive breeding operation for Chelonia mydas (Green Sea turtle, Green turtle) under Res. Conf. 11.14 of CITES (please click here to view letter of submission).  Should the Secretariat receive any objections to this application it will go forward to CoP12 for decision.
